June 26 - July 9, 2009
  • Tuberous begonias can give bountiful flower displays in summer and should be fed throughout the hot months.
  • Fallen fruit, vegetables and flowers can play host to numerous pests, borers and larvae, so be sure to clean up regularly.
  • Vegetable gardens need deep and thorough watering to reach roots deep below the soil surface.
  • For many colored shades of foliage, consider planting the multi-colored coleus or gray foliaged artemisa, dusty miller, parrot’s beak and others found at the local nursery.
  • If crab grass has made an unwanted appearance in your lawn, treat it now with a selective control.
  • Spring bulb foliage should be well dried and yellow by now. Cut if off only when it’s fully dried.
