Services :: Construction / Installation
We generally install our own designs but we have often been told that we "make other designers look good" by expertly and artistically installing their designs as well.
During the initial portion of the construction / installation phase, we will work with the client to select the specific specimen trees, ascent shrubs, etc for their project. This additional service sets us apart as it is not generally offered by landscape designers and contractors.
Following are the basic elements in the construction / installation process:
- We pull permits when necessary
- Layout irrigation backflow device, mainline valves, and lateral lines
- Define borders of open space areas with border treatment – this must be done before irrigation layout is complete
- Layout of trunk lines for projects utilizing outdoor lighting
- Construct or install hardscape – this could require heavy equipment for large trees or boulders
- Install sleeves under walkway areas for irrigation and electrical lines
- Plant trees – this includes soil preparation which is a critical element in thriving plants (insert link to soil prep)
- Coordinate between multiple crews – hardscape, irrigation, water feature crews may all be working at the same time
- Plant foundation and accent shrubs
- Install final irrigation elements such as sprinkler heads and low flow water delivery systems etc.
- Plant perennial and seasonal color beds
- Install mulch
- Install sod
- Project detailing and cleanup – daily or weekly cleanup requirements are outlined in the contract and budget before the project starts
- Project review – we explain irrigation, lighting, water feature systems to client, discuss maintenance and assure overall client
satisfaction with the project.
